Nancy Davis Collier took a sabbatical from her teaching while she took care of her terminally ill mother for iover a year.  She learned the healing power the creative arts had for her own mother while she was ill.  The arts helped to provide many benefits including pain control, oveercoming despair with hope and humor, positive communication skills, a will to live, and a way to die with dignity.

Nancy had the inspiration for helping people in an art field, be it music, writing, singing or any creative outlet. Her "New Outlook Therapy," founded in 1984 and is a registered non-profit organization, was coined by the wife of one of her 'patients' who told her she gave her husband a whole new outlook on life.  Nancy is a great storyteller and always makes lemonade with all the lemons life might give. She is a great motivational speaker and is currently waiting for her first children's book to be published; the first of nine. Many people have been touched by New Outlook Therapy. Nancy works with paraplegics, sufferers of Multiplel Sclerosis, those who are recuperating from debilitating illnesses and even those who will not recover, but want to have some joy in their lives through art.  She runs a non-profit organization. Proceeds from all the many note cards she sells of her students' artwork goes back into New Outlook.

Her work and therapy provide for their patients a positiver attitude, a better quality of life, renewed sense of worth, overcoming barriers of fear, and laughter!
